A Harry Potter inspired game made with unity to get familiar with a VR Headset

Keeping the game lowpoly was a must, since this work was an exam assignment with limited time.

VR is so much fun

Before this assignment I had worn a VR headset maybe one time in my life, so really getting to know the controls and programming my own interactions was a very new experience for me. Teaching myself c# with various tutorials on making small games beforehand was vital so I could apply everything I have learned and turn it into VR. Picking up objects and interacting with the world is clearly one of the strengths of a VR Headset. After learning this I tried to integrate it into the gameplay as much as possible. In the game, the player is standing infront of the class and has to pass their first wizarding exam. They do so by levitating objects, slinging spells out of their wand and knocking over everything the classroom has to offer. The physics based gameplay is a very fun concept to loose yourself in, because it creates so many scenarios in how the objects can behave. This definitely made the game fun for longer, eventhough the tasks to pass the exam are rather short.

Feeling like a wizard by achieving these tasks is definitely the most fun part of the game.
This classroom layout is mildly inspired by the actual Harry Potter game from 2001.
